Principles of the nomenclature and classification of macromolecular organosilicon compounds

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

A nomenclature and clasification has been proposed for macromolecular organosilicon compounds.

  2. 2.

The proposed classification of macromolecular organosilicon compounds is based on the structure of the main chain of the molecule

  3. 3.

The substance taken as the starting point for the classification is the polymeric sila hydrocarbon H3Si[SiH2]x SiH3, and all other macromolecular organosilicon compounds are treated as derivatives of this substance.
