Abstract
4-Hydroxyhexahydropyrimidine-2-thiones were obtained by reaction of N-(azidomethyl)- or N-(p-tlylsulfonylmethyl)thioureas with anions of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds. The corresponding 1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyrimidine-2-thiones were synthesized by dehydration of the pyrimidines obtained.
