Summary

  1. 1.

    The investigation established the effect of the structure and composition of the alkyl radical of an alkyl vinyl ether on the reactivity of the ether in the reaction of silyl acetal formation.

  2. 2.

    The following compounds were synthesized and characterized for the first time: a) methyl, ethyl, propyl, and isopropyl dimethylphenylsilyl acetals of acetaldehyde; b) 1,1,3,3-tetramethyl-1,3-diphenyldisilazane.

  3. 3.

    Chlorodimethylphenylsilane was prepared by a new method.

  4. 4.

    A new method was proposed for the determination of halogens in mixtures of chloro- and bromo-silanes.

  5. 5.

    The method of hydrolyzing acetals was improved.
