Conclusions

1.
A study was made of the effect of shock compression by waves of various intensities on aluminum and boron nitride powders.
-
2.
It is shown that prior shock wave activation enables aluminum nitride parts with a relative density of up to 81% to be obtained without recourse to hot pressing. The densest sinterings, with a residual porosity of not more than 3%, are produced by sintering aluminum nitride compacts pressed by shock compression.
-
3.
It has been established that shock compression of graphite-like boron nitride is accompanied by the formation of the wurtzite-like modification of boron nitride, as a result of which it is impossible to obtain high density in sintered parts.
