Conclusions

The existence of conformational equilibrium in which the conformer with the higher dipole moment predominates was demonstrated with the IR and Raman spectra of liquid and crystalline veratrole and the IR spectra of gaseous veratrole.

The vibrational spectra of veratrole were interpreted based on the solution of the vibrational problem. The frequencies related to vibrations of the C-O-C fragment were identified.
