Thermodynamics of the chemical reactions between clay minerals and iron oxides

Abstract

The thermodynamics of chemical reactions between clay minerals and iron oxides is considered within the framework of phase diagrams for multicomponent systems. Dominant reactions are identified featuring a thermodynamic probability higher than that of clay mineral dehydration.
