Abstract

An international survey of child and youth care workers was conducted to augment existing descriptive information about child and youth care workers and their practices, to investigate differences between members of professional associations and nonmembers, and to develop a model predictive of workers' dispositions toward their agencies. A child care worker profile including working conditions and inservice information, a model incorporating six variables predicting organizational commitment, and selected state and professional differences are reported and discussed.
