Theoretical and experimental studies of the efficiency of absorbing rods in a reflected reactor

  • Published:
Soviet Atomic Energy Aims and scope

Abstract

A comparison is made between experimental and calculated data on the efficiency of individual boroncontaining absorbing rods and of systems of such rods, arranged in the side reflector of a homogeneous cyiindrical thermal reactor. The results are found to be in good agreement. Using a three-group diffusion approximation, the eaiculation method is generalized to the case of an arbitrary arrangement of rods in the side reflector of the reactor.
