Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils Aims and scope

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The impairment of the kinetic characteristics of heterogeneous chemical processes in a fluidized bed of catalyst in comparison with a stationary bed is due both to mixing of the gas phase in the bed and to nonideality of phase contact.

  2. 2.

The effect due to inadequate contact of the interacting phases is more marked than that due to mixing of the gaseous reagents.

  3. 3.

The coefficient of utilization of the interphase contact surface can be increased by using more active catalysts and by partitioning the fluidized bed.
