Conclusions
-
1.
We were the first to make a systematic study of the isomerization of the esters of some dienoic and trienoic acids, and also of some 1,5-cyclooctadienes, using potassium tert-butoxide and transition metal complexes in HMPTA solution.
-
2.
Depending on the amount and type of isomerizing reagent, the direction of the shift of the double bonds can be regulated.
-
3.
It was shown that sorbic acid homologs can be obtained by isomerizing the corresponding esters of 2,5- and 2,5,9-unsaturated acids.
