Inner-sphere activation barrier in reactions of electron transfer complex ions with asymmetric deformation of metal-ligand bonds

Summary

An analysis has been made of the effects on the magnitude of the activation barrier from distortion of the configuration of a regular octahedron of the ligand skeleton in reactions of electron transfer between octahedral complexes of metals. The results obtained in numerical estimates of the magnitude of the barrier have been compared with the values calculated within the framework of the symmetric deformation model.
