Abstract

The results of an experimental investigation of the turbulence characteristics in the plane mixing layer and in the wake behind a cylinder are given. Measurements are made of the distribution of the velocity and temperature probabilities, the intermittency coefficient, and the conditionally averaged values of the square of the velocity and temperature derivatives.
