Abstract

The results of an experimental investigation of the kinematic structure and tangential wall stresses are used for an analysis of the time-dependent friction drag and loss of mechanical energy in a turbulent pulsating flow in a round tube. The question of the applicability of the “quasistationary” approach to calculation of the friction and the dissipative loss in unsteady flow is discussed.
