Ulcerative colitis and anaphylactoid purpura

Summary

The first case of well-documented ulcerative colitis occurring during exacerbations of anaphylactoid purpura has been presented. The patient experienced renal and pulmonary complications. Gastrointestinal manifestations of anaphylactoid purpura were reviewed. It has been advised that other patients with anaphylactoid purpura be carefully observed for evidence of ulcerative colitis.
