Abstract
This paper examines the approaches of sociological and ecological theorists to emotional disturbance in terms of their theoretical grounding in sociology and social psychology and the basic concepts deriving from this grounding. Various programs using these approaches are examined to clarify how the theories and concepts are implemented.
