Effects of manganese and ageing on martensitic transformation of Cu-Al-Mn alloys

Abstract

Manganese lowered theM s temperature of Cu-Al-Mn alloys by about 30 K per 1 wt % Mn and prevented precipitation of stable phases from the supercooledβ phase. Precipitation of stable phases interfered with growth of martensite plates and made transformation hysteresis larger.
