Summary
The lipase-catalyzed irreversible transesterification procedure using vinyl esters has been applied to the resolution of racemic 2-phenoxypropanoic acids. The enantioselectivity was found to be affected profoundly by both the alcohol as a nucleophile and the organic solvent used.
