Peripheral nervous paralyses due to pentachlorophenolate

Summary

A case of intoxication from a Sodium pentachlorophenolate-containing wood preservative is described. The most interesting symptoms were a bullous dermatitis and pareses of the peripheral nerves in both hands. The validity of the diagnosis and the possibility that some impurity was the actual cause are shortly discussed.
