Abstract
One component of the sex pheromone responsible for wing-raising in courtship behaviors ofBlattella germanica males was isolated from cuticular wax of the mature females and identified as 29-hydroxy-3,11-dimethyl-2-nonacosanone. This component showed the activity at a concentration as low as 3 μg/ml in carbon tetrachloride on the behavioral bioassay.
