Abstract

The micromorphological structure of sieve-element plastids ofHectorella caespitosa Hook. f., justifies its position withinCentrospermae, but excludes its alignment with the familyCaryophyllaceae. Both, its inclusion intoPhytolaccaceae, or treatment as a separate family,Hectorellaceae, appear possible.
