Highly supersonic molecular flows in wind-clump boundary layers

Abstract

The gradual acceleration, through viscous coupling to a wind, of molecular hydrogen in turbulent boundary layers around obstacle clumps is proposed to be responsible for the widths of the emission features with full widths at zero intensity of greater than 100 km s−1.
