1.
Analysis of the work carried out by the SRI metrological services makes it possible to divide it into two groups: group I comprising engineering and technical work, and group II the work entailing scientific research and development.
For the work of group II it is necessary to have scientific personnel and independent projects in the field of applied metrology. Such work ensures economic benefits from the SRI metrological service and is a necessary condition for passing from the inspection of measuring equipment to the supervision of measurements in SR Institutes and industry.

2.
The basic task of the departmental metrological services in industrial ministries should be to ensure conditions suitable for the SRI metrological services to carry out the work of group II.
