Preliminary selection of instruments for automatic control and checking

Measurement Techniques Aims and scope

Summary

Having plotted for various instruments the curves of ki=f1(α) and kr=f2(α) for several values ofα (from the data of industrial or laboratory tests), it is possible to find ki and kr for any other values ofα. Similarly for pneumatic instruments we have ki=f1(Ps) and kr=f2(Ps). This facilitates the preliminary choice of instruments without the necessity of taking many response curves. The ratio τi/Ti can also be used for a mathematical analysis of the behavior of automatic control systems [13].
