Conclusions

The biradicals produced by the reaction of metallic sodium with various substituted o-benzoquinones and also the radical-anions generated by reduction at a “sodium mirror” were investigated by ESR.

The temperature evolution of the spectral pattern for the obtained radical-anions corresponds to the presence of two conformations, differing in the mutual arrangement of the free-radical ligand in relation to the central tin atom.
