Conclusions

Perfluoro-1-vinylindane converts by the action of SbF5 or CsF into perfluorinated 1-ethylideneindane, 3-ethylindene or a mixture thereof. In the presence of SbF5, perfluoro-1-divinylindane converts into perfluoro-1-ethylidene-3-ethylindene.

When perfluoro-1,3-divinylindane, perfluoro-1-ethylidene-3-ethylindene or 1-hydroperfluoro-1,3-diethylindene are dissolved in a CsF-MeCN system, a perfluoro-1,3-diethylindenyl anion is generated.
