5. The steric effect in chain termination at nickel bis(N-phenylanthranilate)

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    The rate constants for the reactions of arylalkylperoxyl radicals with nickel bis(N-phenylanthranilate) decreases with substitution of the hydrogen atoms by CH3 groups at theα-carbon atom of the radical on account of steric factors.

  2. 2.

    The antioxidative properties of N-phenylanthranilic acid in the oxidation of ethylbenzene and isopropylbenzene are increased by its coordination with Ni(II).
