The use of the jovanović equation for determining the surface area of adsorbents

Summary

  1. 1.

    Specific surfaces calculated from the Jovanović equation agree well with the corresponding values obtained by the standard BET method.

  2. 2.

    The parameters of the Jovanovic equation, are determined more reliably than the parameters of the BET equation, since a range of pressures where adsorption measurements are more accurate is used for it,

  3. 3.

    For curved adsorption isotherms of type III the Jovanović equation likewise gives a linear dependence, while the BET equation is nonlinear in such cases.
