Conclusions
-
1.
The authors have synthesized and isolated in solid form the hitherto undescribed complex compount Al(NdA)3 · 19H2O.
-
2.
The results of an investigation of the electron spectra, derivatograms, and PMR spectra obtained agree with the assumption of the polynuclear structure of the crystal hydrate of the complexonate Al(NdA)3 · 19H2O.
-
3.
Using pH-meter titration and UV spectroscopy it has been shown that the complexonate Al(NdA)3 completely dissociates in a dilute aqueous solution. The reaction of aluminum ions with ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid takes place slowly, but the reaction of neodymium ions with it is almost instantaneous.
