Carbonyl derivatives of ferrocene, cymanthrene, and benzenechromium tricarbonyl in electrochemical syntheses

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    An electrochemical synthesis of acetylcymanthrene from 1,1′-diacetylferrocene and dimanganese decacarbonyl was carried out.

  2. 2.

    It was proposed that the electrochemical reduction of acetyl derivatives of ferrocene, cymanthrene, and benzenechromium tricarbonyl in CH3CN, leading to cyanoalkyl compounds, be used as a method for elongating the side chain of the above π-complexes by two C atoms.

  3. 3.

    It was shown that as in the case of ferrocene, the ferrocenyl radicals can be electrochemically alkylated.
