Extension of the hydrocarbon chains of α-olefins by their cometathetical reaction with trimethylallylsilane

Conclusions

By cometathesis of α-olefins with allylsilanes and subsequent desilanization of the products obtained, the lengthening of the hydrocarbon chain of α-olefins has been achieved.
