Synthesis of polysaccharides Communication 13. Synthesis of 1,3-glucan

Conclusions

We synthesized 1,2-O-exo-cyanoethylidene-4,6-di-O-acetyl-3-O-trityl-α-D-glucopyranose. The polycondensation of this product led to 1,3-glucan containing bothβ-D-glucopyranose andα-D-glucopyranose units in approximately equal ratio.
