Conclusions

A new π-complex of 2-propyn-1-ol with cyclopentadienyldicarbonylmanganese CpMn(CO)2(π-HC≡ CCH2OH) (I) was obtained by photochemical reaction of cymantrene, and also by the exchange reaction between CpMn(CO)2(THF) and 2-propyn-1-ol.

The action of bases and protic acids on (I) leads to a rearrangement of the π-acetylene ligand to form a new p-vinylidene complex CpMn(CO)2=C =CHCH2OH.

The reaction between (I) and PPh3 leads to an addition product with the formation of a new complex CpMn(CO)2(C3H4O)·PPh3.
