Conclusions
-
1.
cis- and trans-2-Alkyl(aryl)-cis-1-thiahydrindanes have been obtained for the first time free from traces of structural isomers.
-
2.
cis-1-Thiahydrindane and trans-2-alkyl(aryl)-cis-1-thiahydrindanes are present in solution predominantly in conformations in which H9 is equatorial in the cyclohexane ring, whereas cis-2-alkyl(aryl)-cis-1-thiahydrindanes have the conformation in which H9 is axial.
