Conclusions
-
1.
We have studied the IR and Raman spectra of a number of chloronitroacetate esters and have proposed an interpretation.
-
2.
The combination of IR bands that characterizes theα-chloronitro grouping has been established.
-
3.
The substantial proton donor capability of chloronitroacetate esters has been established.
-
4.
The interaction of ethyl chloronitroacetate with phenol has been studied.
