Conclusions

  1. 1.

Charge-transfer complexes of cyclopropyl aryl ethers (CAE) with tetracyanoethylene are of the π,π type (donor center — benzene ring) and with iodine are of the n,σ type (donor center — oxygen atom).

  2. 2.

In the charge-transfer state in CAE participation of the gem-dichlorocyclopropane ring in the conjugation is not very large, and the electronic effects of the cyclopropane ring is transmitted mainly by the inductive -I mechanism.
