Conclusions
We synthesized the cis-3- and 4-methyl-2-oxo-6-(σ-carboxybutyl) hexahydro [3,4-d]-imidazoles by the reduction of the 3- and 4-methyl-2-oxo-2,3-dihydro-6-(carboxybutyl)-1H-thieno [3,4-d] imidazoles with HSiEt3 in CF3COOH and subsequent alkaline hydrolysis of the intermediate methyl ethers.
