Conclusions

When [R4N]B3H8 (R=CH3, C2H5, or C4H9) reacts with Al(BH4)3, the end solid products are complexes [R4N]Al(BH4)4.

The authors propose a scheme of the process, including formation of intermediate complexes [R4N][Al(BH4)3(B3H8)], unstable at room temperature, and their decomposition with evolution of B2H4, and formation of [R4N]Al (BH4)4].
