For the purpose of pharmacological investigation a series of amino alcohols and their esters containing p-methoxy- and p-chloro-phenyl groups was synthesized for the first time.

The presence of a methoxy group has an unfavorable effect on the esterification reaction.

The amino ketone (II) and the amino alcohol (VI) were found to be effective secondary accelerators for the vulcanization of rubber.
