Editor's Note: Kenneth Heller was honored at the 99th annual meeting of the American Psychological Association in San Francisco, California, August 1991. The Award for Distinguished Contributions to Community Psychology and Community Mental Health is a career award given by the Society for Community Research and Action: The Division of Community Psychology of the American Psychological Association. The awards committee, composed of all past-Presidents of the Society, selects an awardee based in part on nominations from the members. Dr. Heller was introduced by Ralph Swindle, Jr. Ralph W. Swindle, Jr.
