Catalytic activity of some phosphorus heterocycles in synthesis of carbodiimides

Conclusions

  1. 1.

    A transition of the ester linkage from the exo- to the endocyclic position, and also the replacement of phosphoryl oxygen by sulfur, both substantially change the activity of heterocyclic catalysts for the formation of carbodiimides.

  2. 2.

    A correlation was found to exist between the tendency of the catalysts to form the hydrogen bond, as a measure of the nucleophilicity of the phosphoryl group, and their activity.
