1.
3-(N, N-Dialkylaminomethylene)-4-thiolene-2-thiones were obtained by the reaction of aliphatic secondary amines with 2-mercapto-3-thenylidenimines.
-
2.
The corresponding 5-ethylthieno[2, 3-b]thiophenes, substituted in the “2” position, are formed by the reaction of 5-ethyl-3-(N,N-dimethylaminomethylene)-4-thiolene-4-thione withα-halocarbonyl compounds.

3.
3-Dimethylamino-5-ethyl-2,3-dihydrothieno[2,3-b]thiophene was obtained by the reaction of 5-ethyl-3-(N,N-dimethylaminomethylene)-4-thiolene-2-thione with dimethylsulfonium methylid.
