Conclusions
-
1.
The systems SiCl4-TBP, GeCl4-TBP, and SnCl4-TBP in hexane (TBP is n-tributyl orthophosphate) were investigated by the method of dielectrometric titratton.
-
2.
No appreciable interaction was detected in the systems SiCl4-TBP and GeCl4-TBP. Successive formation of molecular complexes with 1∶1 and 1∶2 compositions was found in the system SnCl4-TBP.
-
3.
The equilibrium concentrations in reactions of complex formation of SnCl4 with TBP were calculated with an electronic computer, and the orders of the corresponding equilibrium constants were estimated.
-
4.
The dipole moments of the complexes formed were determined, and hypotheses concerning their structure were advanced.
