About the absorption of X-rays in dynamicly compressed liquids

Abstract

Liquids in a plate condensor with a movable plate can be compressed dynamicly by a dielectric discharge. The compression area is photographed with X-ray flashes. It has the contour of a coil, encircled by a cordon of cavitation-blisters. The buble-cordon shows the influence of a lifting of the movable plate for the measurements. Contrary to older statements no influence of the compression on the absorption of X-ray can be proved at pressures of 30000 kp/cm2.
