Conclusions
-
1.
The tin halide ligand is coordinated with the Rh(I) in the complex tris(triphenylphosphine)rhodium(I) trichlorostanides (tribromostanides).
-
2.
The rhodium(triphenylphosphine)tin complexes differ from the rhodium-tin complexes insofar as the former are capable of hydrogenating unsaturated compounds. The rate of selective hydrogenation of the acetylenes is higher than the rate of hydrogenation of the olefins and dienes.
-
3.
The catalytic activity of the complexes can be increased by replacing the chlorine of the tin halide ligand by bromine.
