Theoretical examination of mechanism of electrophilic addition reactions

Conclusions

Starting with the assumption that the progress of the process is synchronous, the application of the simple MO theory makes it possible to explain the experimentally observed stereo- and regioselectivity of electrophilic addition reactions, including the Markovnikov rule.
