Conclusions
By studying molecular ion stabilities and values of the\(I_{[M - C_2 H_5 ]^ + } /I_{[M]^ + } \) ratio (the [M-C2H5]+ results from 4-C2H5 group elimination), we have been led to 4-center configurations for the trans-linked 1-alkyl-4-ethyl(ethynyl)decahydroquinolol-4′s (Alk=CH3, C2H5, n-and i-C3H7).
