Abstract

New complex acids of the type H[Co(Propox·H)2 X 2] (Propox·H2=methyl-isopropylglyoxime,X=Cl, Br, I) were obtained by air oxidation of CoX 2 in the presence of methylisopropylglyoxime. A series of new salts of these acids has been prepared and characterized by means of double decomposition reactions. IR spectra are recorded and discussed. Aquation kinetics of the [Co(Propox·H)2Cl2] and [Co(Propox·H)2Br2]-ions was studied in acidic solutions, and kinetic parameters derived were compared with those of the analogous dimethyl-glyoxime derivatives.
