Abstract
The strain due to transformation plasticity has been calculated and it is shown that the rate of the transformation-plasticity strain deviator is proportional to the second invariant of the crystallographic distortion and to the stress deviator, and also that this relationship is independent of the particular nature of the phase transformation.
