Conclusions
-
1.
An x-ray diffraction study of zinc, cadmium, and mercury methylates and cadmium and mercury ethylates was conducted.
-
2.
Cadmium methylate and ethylate are isostructural to cadmium hydroxide, i.e., they crystallize in a hexagonal laminar lattice of the CdI2 type (space group P¯3ml; Z=1).
-
3.
The IR absorption spectra were measured in the region of 3000–400 cm−1.
