Theory of chain-thermal flame propagation

Communication 3. Effect of transfer coefficients on the flame propagation rate

  • Published:
Bulletin of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, Division of chemical science Aims and scope

Summary

  1. 1.

A relation determining the dependence of the flame propagation rate on the diffusion coefficients of the active centers and the thermal conductivity of the combustion mixture was obtained and used for calculating the theoretical ratio of the flame propagation rates in three different stoichiometric methane —oxygen mixtures.

  2. 2.

The theoretical ratios of the flame propagation rates are in good agreement with the corresponding ratios determined experimentally.
